With much delay, this post has been long time in coming...

This is about the Artists and people who made this transformation possible. As per usual - working on a shoestring to meet tight deadlines comes with the territory of working in
these archetypal situations for independent artists.

Anyway... we powered through to produce a beautiful little exhibition.

David Bassinder AKA Krude

David is an extremely talented local painter / graffiti writer / public artist.

Profiled on the Live & Let Live pages -

Basseys' combination of Aerosol and Emulsion paints lead to fantastic surface finishes.

The flatness on the paint gives him the medium to visualise Dudley High St in a new light.

5 days in the creating. This piece developed as the project grew. David helped to construct the show and exhibit 9 works including his commission.

Inspired by his surroundings, Davids' commission compliments his recent canvas' High St 1 & 2



His loose style brings new life to a polluted and dreary corner at the Top Church end of Dudley High St>>>













This was the beginnings of another massive piece of 8 x 8 creative genius.....

But, this was just the start.. the principles behind this image were to play with perception..
















After planning the presentation of the work to make it differ from the norm, David decided to explore perspective....





First Look on Sunday 29th November.....

This painting kept developing right up till the final moments of presenting the show....



You've got to love the dedication!!












Davids' work went down a storm at the Arts Space Gallery.

Eclectic Clothing - AKA - Sally Buxton

Sally is an independent textiles artist. Specializing in Print, Fabric Manipulation and Remade Fashion, she created a series of 3 'Art' Skirts. A fresh look at showing canvas in an exhibition.

The 'Urban Fragmentation' series was created following the Live & Let Live Gallery's 2009 show. We were fortunate enough to have a series of hanging bust mannequins donated to us by Jill Bennett and Clare from the VM team at Dudley's House of Fraser Store (now closed).

With the technical expertise of Carl Stanley & Richard the Third, the work took the exhibition to the next dimension.









As you can see.. Sally loves Circles!!!!!

The surface design of these pieces needed very close inspection to appreciate the intricate beauty of the finished pieces...

Working on my mannequins from the Live & Let Live Gallery, I wanted to make a new piece for the Arts Space Show.

I work with donated and discarded materials. The mannequins I saved from a skip C/O Marks & Spencer's on 2008, the denim I believe was a pair of twisted Levi's donated by Kinglux in 2007, combined with circles cut from all those fiddley bits that end up on the studio floor...

Garment 1: Circle Bustier

Hand draped to work as a top layer over Vest / Custom Tee.











I then took my circles to a new dimension with a little twist of fabric manipulation.....

The disks were twisted to create a small cone structure, then placed together to begin to form a three dimensional surface and sculptural silhouette for the garment.










Time being a critical factor, I worked the garment directly onto my mannequin in the exhibition space...

This gave me a small transgression.. (mannequin smaller than dress stand syndrome!)

To keep the theme of transformation, I retained the Kinglux
Levi's as an example of the origination of the cloth for the garment.














I love circles too!!!

Et voila!
